Queen Latifah Calls Parton An 'Icon'

Queen Latifah has described her co-star Dolly Parton as an 'icon'.

The pair tem up for new movie Joyful Noise, which is directed by Todd Graff, and Latifah admits that Parton was someone that she has always looked up to.

Speaking to Parade the actress said: "She is unbelievable. She's an icon. She was someone I looked up to when I was growing up mostly because we both had larger breasts in common.

"She was talented, she carried herself so well, she made great music, she's sassy, and she's a great actress.

"If there's anybody gets to be a diva it's her. But she's way down-to-earth."

Joyful Noise marks a return to the big screen for Latifah for the first time since The Dilemma, although she has worked in TV with Single Ladies.

She has also lent her voice once again to the character of Ellie in Ice Age: Continental Drift.
