Robert Carlyle loved appearing in TV movie '24: Redemption'.
Robert has been friends with '24' star Kiefer Sutherland - who plays lead character Jack Bauer - since they appeared in a film together in 2001, so he jumped at the chance to work with him again.
The 47-year-old actor said: "Something like '24' is enjoyable for an actor for entirely different reasons. It is just so popular and 40 million people watch it in America. You have to take that role. I don't have any snobbery about doing that.
A lot of the characters I play are marginalised, they have serious problems
"The same honesty is required whether a film is big budget. I enjoy that."
Robert also revealed he is happy portraying the damaged, often violent, characters which made him famous.
He adds: "If that's my fate, I'm happy to play those guys. A lot of the characters I play are marginalised, they have serious problems. That's as good as it gets."
