Robert Downey Jr. says 'Sherlock Holmes' is the "toughest" movie he has ever made.
The actor portrays the title character in Guy Ritchie's forthcoming movie and admits the role was a struggle, despite feeling more like the British detective than his 'Iron Man' character Tony Stark.
He explained: "Sherlock Holmes is easily the toughest job I've ever had.
a total bada*s.He added to MTV News: He thinks through all eventualities, possibilities and counterattacks when he's fighting, so he actually has the fight worked out before he starts.
"Playing Tony Stark, this super genius, people say, 'You're so cool.' He is cool, and sometimes if I get pumped-up enough and take enough creatine, then I can look cool for up to 12 seconds at a time. With Sherlock, it was very different. He's a much more centered and focused person, which works for me. I'm a character actor."
The new movie - an adaptation of novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - depicts the detective as a martial arts expert and Robert says the characters combat skills make him "a total bada*s."
He added to MTV News: "He thinks through all eventualities, possibilities and counterattacks when he's fighting, so he actually has the fight worked out before he starts."
