Citing Daniel's roles in 'Munich' and 'Sylvia', the 81-year-old star said: "All of those parts were very, very different to one's conception of Bond. I thought he was absolutely marvellous."

Meanwhile, bookmakers are taking bets on the number of women James Bond will sleep with in the next movie of the franchise after Daniel Craig admitted he expects to be more promiscuous in the next film.

A spokesperson for bookmakers William Hill said: "The days of Bond bedding a vast number of girls is over and our odds suggest that the modern Bond is a one lady man."

The company offer odds of 7/1 that the spy will see no romantic action, 4/5 that he will sleep with just one girl, 6/4 for two, 10/1 if he has encounters with three women and 20/1 if he manages to hook up with at least four women over the course of the movie.
