Rupert Grint has always "connected" with his 'Harry Potter' character.
The British actor says he admired Ron Weasley even before being cast in the role of the red-haired young wizard in the hit movie franchise and insists he is happy to star as the title character's sidekick.
He told Time Out New York: "I've always liked the character of Ron. He was my favourite when I was reading the books. I've always felt a kind of connection to him," he explained.

"I've found certain similarities between us. Just little things, like us both being ginger, and I have a few brothers and sisters as well. I thought he was funny in the books as well. So, yeah, it doesn't bother me."
The 20-year-old star admits he thinks it will be "quite weird" when the franchise ends, but is looking forward to moving on to other ventures.
He added: "It has been such a massive part of my life. I think I'll miss it, in a way, but I am looking forward to freedom, really, when it's all over."
