'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed he will be directing Mark Ruffalo in 'The Normal Heart'.
Ryan Murphy will direct 'The Normal Heart'.
The 'Glee' creator - who is currently promoting 'Eat, Pray, Love' starring Julia Roberts - confirms he will be working on the adaptation of Larry Kramer's semi-autobiographical play, with Mark Ruffalo playing the starring role.
He said: "I'm directing from Larry Kramer's beautiful script and we're going to shoot that in June of next year. I think it's an important story and I think Mark Ruffalo is just beyond brilliant so I'm very excited to be directing him."
Discussing rumours he is in the running to direct the big-screen version of stage show 'Wicked', Ryan confirmed he would love to work on it but has not been approached.
He told MTV News: "I love that show, I've used the music of that show on 'Glee'. I think that show is about empowerment, which is what 'Glee' and 'Eat, Pray, Love' are about, so it would be an honour to be asked."
