Ryan Reynolds admits that he did no rehearsal for his new movie Buried.

The actor leaves behind the big budget blockbusters for the intense thriller Buried, all of which takes place inside a wooden coffin.

The movie, which only stars Reynolds, is directed by Rodrigo Cortes and he reveals that rehearsal wouldn't have been possible because of all the emotional that was needed for the part.

Speaking to MTV the actor said: "This is the only film I've ever done where I did not rehearse a moment of it before stepping onto the set.

"I just don't know if you could. Who wants to? It would be awful to try and rehearse this at home and try to express all of these different kinds of emotions in a close-up.

"It's just something you've gotta do when you're out there, and then it will feel like a fever dream. And that's what it was.

"I walked away thinking it felt like I had a weird nightmare."

Reynolds has mixed and matched his roles this year having already completed work on blockbuster Green Lantern, which is due for release next year.

Buried is released 1st October.
