Ryan Reynolds Says Green Lantern Is Not A Comedy

Ryan Reynolds has assured fans of Green Lantern that the movie is not a comedy.

Many long standing fans of the DC Comic character did not like the first trailer for the movie but Reynolds, who was at CinemaCon this weekend, has tried to soothe some ruffled feathers.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times the actor said: "They were worried about it. Fanboys are known to have a very loud voice.

"They're known to beat their chest hard when they like or dislike something, and that's all part of the game."

"I know, because I was an integral part of the shooting process, that the movie is not a comedy at all.

"The levity is really kind of more in a Han Solo kind of vein than anything broader."

Reynolds takes on the role of Hal Jordan in the Martin Campbell directed movie which also stars Blake Lively and Mark Strong.

Green Lantern is released 17th June
