Sam Raimi Penning Evil Dead 4

Sam Raimi has revealed that he has begun writing the fourth movie in the Evil Dead series.

In an interview with Empire the director said: "We've got nine pages so far. Every time I'm with my brother Ivan, we write another page of it. It's in Detroit and in my garage.

"There's some dialogue. Ash being an idiot. Ash taking some abuse. Some character stuff and then some structure of Act Two.

"Just other possibilities for things that could happen. It's ideas, jokes, things we'd like to see."

The Evil Dead series kicked off in 1981 becoming a major hit and launching Raimi's career as a filmmaker. He followed this up in 1987 with Evil Dead II and again in 1993 with a third movie Army of Darkness.

The series of films has followed Ashley 'Ash' J. Williams and his fight against deadites.
