Sam Worthington has revealed that he wants to play Captain Nemo in the new 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake.
Terminator Salvation filmmaker McG will direct the remake and he hinted that he wanted Worthington, who he worked with on the latest Terminator, to take on the lead role.
He told MovieHole: "I actually saw that online [that McG said he wanted me]. Am I like, 'Hey [McG], how come you've never talked to me about this?'"
"The next thing you know it's online - he's saying, 'I want Sam I want Sam'. I started laughing. I might get into it a bit more and start writing online saying I want this job and this job and this job.
"We haven't discussed it seriously. I wrote him an email and he wrote back saying, 'I don't think you have these qualities, blah, blah...' and I wrote back saying, 'It's your job as a director to bring it out of me'."
2009 has been a great year for the thirty three year old actor with the box office success of Terminator Salvation, which he starred in alongside Christian Bale.
He will appear in James Cameron's science fiction movie Avatar at Christmas and the remake of The Clash of the Titans in 2010.
