The 'Sex and the City: The Movie' sequel will not reflect the recession in its styling.

Despite star Sarah Jessica Parker - who plays journalist Carrie Bradshaw in the hit TV and movie franchise - recently claiming she could see her character shunning expensive outfits to reflect the current economic climate, stylist Patricia Field insists she has no plans to dramatically alter the character's wardrobes.

She said: "I wouldn't do it. Of course the four girls are going to be fabulous and flamboyant - otherwise what is the point? I want to do it the other way. I'd be like, 'Forget your troubles.'

She's gonna have to change from thinking about indulgence

"I don't use the recession as a reference for my creativity."

Her comments came after Sarah Jessica said it would be "inappropriate" to showcase the designer clothes the franchise became famous for.

She said: "Carrie will have been affected and she's not an idiot. She's gonna have to change from thinking about indulgence."
