Scott Speedman Was Up for Robin Role Opposite Clooney

Scott Speedman almost landed the role of Robin opposite George Clooney after a casting agent saw his soapbox rant on Canadian TV.

The hunk was considering acting as a career when he paid a dollar to talk politics on TV network MuchMusic's Speaker's Corner segment - and his looks and confidence landed him an agent.

He recalls, "She called me and asked me to audition for Batman and Robin for the Robin role... I didn't get it but it got me an agent.

"I wasn't ready to do that". Chris O'Donnell eventually landed the role in the 1997 movie.
