Scream 4

Scream 4 has toppled Rio for the top of the UK box office to grab the number one spot in it's first weekend.

It's been over ten years since a Scream movie has graced the big screen but last week saw Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette return to the role of Sydney, Gail and Dewey - with Wes Craven in the director's chair.

Ten years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer.

The movie took just over £2 million this weekend to storm to the top of the UK box office and end the reign of animation movie Rio.

Rio slipped just a single place to number two while Your Highness, which stars Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman, was the second new entry inside the top three.

Red Riding Hood, which is the first movie for Catherine Hardwicke since Twilight, was also new on the chart this week as it opened at number four.

Hop dropped a single place to five while Source Code was one of this week's biggest fallers as it fell from two to six.

Limitless was also down four at seven while Winnie The Pooh was new at number eight.

Sucker Punch was another four place faller as it finished the week at nine and Little While Lies was new at ten.
