Sean Penn is set to play a wealthy rock star in a new movie.

The 'Milk' actor is in final talks to appear in 'This Must Be The Place' as an aging musician who attempts to hunt down his father's executioner after becoming bored with retirement.

The killer is an ex-Nazi war criminal who is hiding out in the US after lying on an immigration form.

No other casting details have yet been revealed.

The film will be the first English language production from 'Il Divo' director Paolo Sorrentino.

Italian Paolo has written the script with Umberto Contarello.

Production is set to start once Sean finishes the three projects he currently has lined up - 'The Three Stooges', 'Cartel' and 'Fair Game'.

He has also just finished work on 'The Tree of Life'.
