Selena Gomez is set to star in 'What Boys Want'.

The Disney actress - who is best known for her role in the TV series 'The Wizards of Waverly Place' - is in negotiations to take the lead in the forthcoming comedy about a teenage girl who can hear men's innermost thoughts.

The movie - which is being produced by New Line - will also see her mother Mandy Teefey and Allen Fisher of Principato-Young as executive producers.

The script has been written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer and will be produced by Kevin Misher, who previously worked with Selena in Michael Mann's 'Public Enemies'.

Last year, the 17-year-old actress formed July Moon productions and has already teamed up with XYZ films to finance and develop two further blockbusters which she will both star in and produce.
