Director Shane Meadows' This Is England is leading the pack at the ninth annual British Independent Film Awards (Bifas) next month (Nov06), with seven nominations.This Is England has received nominations including Best Film, Best Director (Meadows), two for Best Supporting Actor/Actress (Joseph Gilgun and Stephen Graham) and Best Screenplay (Meadows).Elsewhere, both The Last King Of Scotland and The Queen have six nominations each. The Last King Of Scotland is up for awards including Best Film, Best Director (Kevin Macdonald), Best Screenplay (Peter Morgan and Jeremy Brock), and has two Best Actor nominations (James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker).The Queen has picked up nominations including Best Film, Best Director (Stephen Frears), Best Actress (Dame Helen Mirren) and Best Screenplay (Peter Morgan).The Bifas take place on 29 November at the Hammersmith Palais in London.
