Steve Carell is to appear in a Napoleonic comedy. The 'Get Smart' actor is reportedly about to sign up to appear in 'Adventures of Brigadier Gerard', which is based on stories by 'Sherlock Holmes' creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.Steve would play the title character, Etienne Gerard, a soldier who considers himself a gallant swordsman but whose actual skills are no match for his believed ability. The film is set to follow the soldier throughout his career at Napoleon's side, from revolutionary War into exile. However, there is a chance Steve may not be able to feature in the film as he is also considering 'Date Night' with Tina Fey and may be involved in a possible sequel to 'Get Smart' during a gap in filming the American version of 'The Office'.The script is being penned by 'Blades of Glory' writers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.
