Taylor Lautner Defends Shirtless Scenes

Taylor Lautner has defended the shirtless scenes in his latest movie New Moon.

The seventeen year old has a much larger role in the second movie in the Twilight Saga which saw the teenager have to bulk up as Jacob Black.

Jacob is left to pick up the pieces of Bella's broken heart after Edward leaves her but he's hiding a few secrets of his own.

In an interview with E! Online he said: "There's definitely reasons behind it for the film. When we transform, we don't have clothes, we have to go find our clothes. And we're hot, we're 108 degrees.

"So it's not like we're randomly taking our shirts off for no reason."

The cast have already completed filming on the third movie Eclipse, which will be released next summer, and Robert Pattinson revealed that the fourth book Breaking Dawn is going to be made into a movie.

New Moon is released 20th November
