Disney are to remake 'Yellow Submarine'.
'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' director Robert Zemeckis is reportedly in negotiations to helm a new version of animated movie, which was based on the music of The Beatles, for the studio.
The original 1film followed a soldier called Old Fred who met up with the 'Hey Jude' hitmakers - John Lennon, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr - and travelled in a yellow submarine to Pepperland, meeting a variety of characters, including the music hating Blue Meanies, along the way.
I could render the Beatles. I wouldn't have to hide them. They could just be there. Maybe we'll remake that one - that would be fun.
It is also rumoured a spin-off stage production is in the works to tie in with the new movie, which will be done in performance capture and digital 3D.
Earlier this year, Robert admitted the film of his which he would most like to remake is 1978's 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand', which followed a group of youngsters trying desperately to see the legendary band.
He said: "I could render the Beatles. I wouldn't have to hide them. They could just be there. Maybe we'll remake that one - that would be fun."
