The Devil Inside

The Devil Inside

The Devil Inside has topped the UK box office, toppling John Carter from the number one spot.

The latest exorcism movie took £1.9 million in it's opening weekend to hold off a very strong challenge from 21 Jump Street.

21 Jump Street is a movie adaptation of the hit TV show and sees Jonah Hill team up with Channing Tatum.

The super funny comedy movie took £1.5 million but had to settle for second.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel continues to do well as is slipped just a single place this weekend to number three.

The former #1 movie took a further £1.5 million and narrowly missed on maintaining it's number two spot.

Last week's number one John Carter fell three places to four this week and it failed to hit £1m in his second week on release .

We Bought A Zoo and Contraband were also new on the chart this week as they opened at five and six respectfully.

We Bought A Zoo is a real life story based on the memoir of Benjamin Mee while Contraband is the first movie for Mark Wahlberg since The Fighter.

The Woman In Black fell out of the top five this week as it dropped four places to number seven. However it has now taken in excess of £20 million in the UK alone.

This Means War was down four places at eight while The Muppets was down three places at nine.

But Safe House was the biggest faller this week as it dropped five places to round off the top ten.
