Streep Blocked Blunt's Prada Grab

Emily Blunt was planning to haul all the designer clothes off the set of her movie the Devil Wears Prada - until co-star Meryl Streep proposed a more charitable option.

The actress, who played a fashion assistant in the 2006 comedy, couldn't wait to inherit the racks of expensive outfits when filming wrapped.

But her sneaky plan to bag the goods was nixed by Streep.

Blunt recalls, "Meryl Streep had this idea of selling everything for charity.

Everyone was saying, 'Great idea' - when really we were dying inside. You can't say no to Meryl Streep - particularly when she's being charitable.

"I did steal a belt - that's okay, isn't it? But it was so unfair."
