The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games has stormed to the top of the UK box office, ending the one week reign of The Devil Inside.

The adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel has been a monster hit on it's opening weekend and the movie took £4.9  million to claim the #1 spot.

Jennifer Lawrence leads an all star cast while Gary Ross is in the director's chair. The movie has already taken in excess of $232 million at the global box office.

21 Jump Street stayed put at number two while there was also no move for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at three.

The Devil Inside dropped three places to this week's n umber four while We Bought A Zoo remained at five.

There was also no move from Contraband at six but there was a three place for John Carter, which was down at seven.

Act of Valour was the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week at number eight, the movie topped the American box office earlier this month.

The Woman In Black fell two places to nine after what has been a great run for the movie at the UK box office.

The Muppets dropped just a single place to round off the top ten.
