The Hurt Locker's four producers will collect Oscars if the film triumphs at the Academy Awards next month (Mar10).

Oscar rules state that only three producers can claim the gold man, but Academy officials have agreed to make an exception in the case of the Kathryn Bigelow film - because all four linked to the movie were vital in the process.

As a result, Bigelow, screenwriter Mark Boal, Nicolas Chartier and Greg Shapiro will all be entitled to take the stage if The Hurt Locker is named Best Film.

The Hurt Locker has dominated the awards circuit in recent weeks and is now the frnt runner to scoop Best Picture.

Kathryn Bigelow's Iraq drama missed out on the same awards at the Golden Globes, losing to Avatar, and it's believed to be a two horse race between the pair.

However The Hurt Locker gained more momentum when Bigelow picked up the Director's Guild of America Award for her work, the first women ever to scoop the Best Director prize.

And she could make more history as she would be the first female winner of Best Director if she was to walk away with the prize.
