The Other Guys

The Other Guys

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are top of the UK box office as The Other Guys saw off competition from Devil to grab the number one spot.

The movie sees Farrell reunite with Anchorman filmmaker Adam McKay while Wahlberg takes on his first comedic lead role, they are also joined on the cast list by Samuel L.Jackson and Dwayne Johnson.

Two mismatched New York City detectives seize an opportunity to step up like the city's top cops whom they idolize -- only things don't quite go as planned.

The film took £1.9 million in it's opening weekend to bag the number one spot and it was also the only movie to break the £1 million barrier.

In at two was another new entry in the form of horror movie Devil, which is an original story by filmmaker M.Night Shyamalan; although he did not direct the movie.

Resident Evil: Afterlife was down two places after just one week at number one Toy Story 3 and Grown Ups were also down two as they rounded off the top five at four and five.

Gemma Arterton's new movie Tamara Drewe dropped just a single place to this week's number two while The Las Exorcism was down three at seven.

Marmaduke was up three places to eight, it was last week's number eleven, while Diary of A Wimpy Kid was also up three to number nine.
