The Time Traveler's Wife has seen off all the blockbuster competition to land the number one spot at the UK box office.
The movie is an adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's debut novel and follows a Chicago librarian with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel, and the complications it creates for his marriage.
Starring Eric Bana, who has had a very successful summer with Star Trek and Funny People in a couple of weeks, and Rachel McAdams the movie has grossed £1.4 million to take the top spot.
Aliens in the Attic was another new entry at number two, and the only other movie to break the £1 million barrier this week, while G-Force moves up one place from four to three.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince dropped one place from three to four while it was a three place drop for G.I: Joe: Rise of the Cobra in it's second week on the chart to round off the top five.
But after just one week at the top comedy The Ugly Truth dropped five places to number six.
Bandslam was another new entry at number seven and The Perfect Getaway entered the chart at number ten.
