ROBBINS HOPES WAR OF THE WORLDS DOESN'T SPARK SPACE RACEMovie star TIM ROBBINS hopes his new sci-fi epic WAR OF THE WORLDS doesn't ignite America's space race because he thinks the money wasted on the project would be better spent on earth matters.As co-star TOM CRUISE and director STEVEN SPIELBERG admit they hope the film, about invading aliens, does prompt US President GEORGE W BUSH to concentrate on space exploration, activist Robbins disagrees.He says, "I'm sure that out there somewhere there's something living. I'm not sure it's worth the money to find out. Let it be magical."I don't see spending billions of dollars to see if there's life somewhere else as a good use of money. Better to use that money to make the quality of life better here on earth."
