Tom Hardy gets into character by watching 'Come Dine with Me'.
The 'Dark Knight Rises' star is a huge fan of the reality show where guests who don't know each other go for dinner round their respective houses, and admits his 'Lawless' character Forrest Bondurant - who is a bare-knuckle boxing bootlegger described as a charismatic man - is inspired by the series.
He said: "How do I get into character? I watch 'Come Dine with Me'. I really do like 'Come Dine with Me'!
"It's great people watching. I'll steal characters from 'Come Dine with Me'. Because they're real people. I take something from everybody."
Despite admitting Forrest often growls rather than speaks, he claims he is a motherly character in the movie, which also stars Guy Pearce, Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain.
He added to Total Film magazine: "Forrest is a matriarch, he's a mother. I don't think it's being macho. I don't think that's what masculinity is."
Tom recently admitted he is fascinated by the female side of his 'Lawless' alter-ego.
He said: "He's a specific type of man. What interested me was the female role in this guy. And what the nature of violence is to men. Non-egotistical violence, non-macho violence. Violence from within the cardigan."
