Pixar's Up has spent a second week at the top of the Australian box office, easily seeing off competition from comedy Funny People.

Up is the latest critically acclaimed movie from Pixar studios, following in the footsteps of Wall-E and Ratatouille in recent years.

Judd Apatow's comedy Funny People was the only new entry inside the top five this week as it opened at number two.

The movie follows George, a very successful stand up comedian who learns that he has an untreatable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live.

Ira is a struggling up-and-coming stand up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona.

The man that brought us The Forty Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up brings together some of the hottest comedy talent, including Adam Sandler, Leslie Mann, Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill.

There was a one place drop for Inglourious Basterds as it fell from two to three while Aliens In The Attic and Charlie & Boots held onto fourth and fifth.

The only other new entry inside the top ten was Push which opened at number eight.
