Val Kilmer was relieved when he filmed his death scene in 'The Doors'.The actor played tragic frontman Jim Morrison in the biopic and says he found playing the role so traumatic, he was glad when it came to an end.He said: "I was relieved to die in 'The Doors', just so I didn't have to do anything else. Jim Morrison was such a great character but such a tragic guy. He wasn't that much fun. He was goofing around a lot but that's coming out of a lot of turmoil with his behaviour that was so extreme. Plus, Jim Morrison just jumped off the stage once a night. "I had to do it 15 times in a row. The role took its toll physically, so I remember being in that bathtub for the death scene thinking, 'Ah, this is great! I hope I don't breathe and blow the shot', because I was very happy to die."Meanwhile, Val claims a "happy accident" led to him voicing KITT, the famous 'Knight Rider' car in the recent TV movie. He explained: "It was a really weird happy accident."It was very strange just because they called me on a Wednesday about 8.30 at night. I live in the wilderness and my private phone just never rings because if you know me, you call the cell because I travel a lot. It was ringing and I looked at the phone like, 'That's really weird. Someone's calling me.'

"I went over, picked it up and it was the agency saying, 'Do you want to be the voice of KITT? It's not an audition. They're offering it to you.' I said, 'When?' 'Tomorrow at 7:00.'

"What had happened - and I can't take any credit for it at all - is that the actor Will Arnett, someone had seen him on the commercial for a car company and called him up and said, 'I think we have a problem.' He'd signed, done the job and been paid for it, but then they found out his voice is owned for another car company, which they found out by accident.'"
