Joel Silver has revealed that he doesn't think that a big screen version of TV show Veronica Mars will be made.

Silver served as executive producer on the hit TV series, which shot Kristen Bell to fame before it was cancelled in 2007 after three seasons.

And while there has been rumours that a movie could be in the pipeline Silver believes that it won't happen.

Speaking to MTV News Silver said: It's not me, there's just nobody that wants to make it happen.

"I'd love to see it happen. We talked to [creator] Rob Thomas about it and he had an idea of what to do."

"Look, it'd still be on the air if people want to see the movie or the show. It just didn't happen."

And while Silver admits that he is up for the project he believes that the movie will be difficult to pitch to Warner Bros.

"We analysed all these areas about it," he said. "I talked to [the Warner Bros.] home video people about it, because a movie like that would be driven by home video.

"But the home video itself didn't do that well for Veronica Mars so [the department] didn't feel there was a need or an audience for a direct-to-video Veronica Mars, which could have driven a theatrical release."
