Vin Diesel: 'Publicists Couldn't Handle the Pace of Fast & Furious'

Vin Diesel's former publicists couldn't handle the sudden success of his new Fast & Furious film - and fired him, according to the action star.

42 West bosses reportedly parted company with the XXX star after he arrived four hours late to a press junket in Los Angeles on the eve of the film's release last week (ends-03-Apr-09), but the actor insists there was more to it than that.

I think the publicists were so overwhelmed, with so much going on, they just cracked. They freaked out.

He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "Was I late? Yes, I was. But I was sick. And I did show up, even though I was sick.

42 West bosses have refused to comment on their decision to part ways with Diesel, other than to insist the split was "amicable".
