Will Ferrell has admitted that he doesn't think the public support for a second Anchorman movie will help the movie get made.

Ferrell along with the rest of the cast of Anchorman, as well as it's director Adam McKay, were gearing up for a sequel when the plans for a second movie were scrapped.

And despite fans of the film backing the sequel Ferrell believes that it hasn't changed the minds of people at the studio.

Speaking to MTV Ferrell said: "Paramount, which is owned by your parent company, Viacom... they seem indifferent to any sort of public outcry for this.

"It's very flattering to us. We love it, but apparently, they don't care."

Despite the canning of the Anchorman 2 plans it has been a busy year for Ferrell as he, along with Mark Wahlberg, are top of the UK box office with their new movie The Other Guys.

And the actor has two other movies due for release this year, Everything Must Go and animation picture Megamind.
