Will Ferrell believes that Hollywood is not creative enough when it comes to making movies.
Ferrell will be returning to the big screen with his new movie Casa de mi Padre, a role for which he had to learn how to speak Spanish.
Speaking to The New York Times the actor said: "It's one of the more creatively timid times in Hollywood.
"You find yourself going, 'If they're not going to make this movie, why don't I go off and play in this area for little or no money?',"
And while there were major challenges for Ferrell to overcome for his new film he called the whole experience 'exhilarating'.
"It was terrifying. There was a moment of: 'What did I get myself into?'. It's the exhilarating part of what we get to do [as actors]."
The actor has worked mainly in TV of late with Eastbound & Down and The Office, however her has completed work on movie The Campaign.
Ferrell also revealed earlier this week that there will be a second Step Brothers movie.
