Zac Efron wants to play an 11-year-old adventure-seeker in a new film.
The 21-year-old actor is in talks to appear as the title character in a live-action movie version of classic cartoon 'The Adventures of Jonny Quest', and says he would love to appear as the 11-year-old boy who accompanies his doctor father on a series of amazing adventures.
He said: "It's a great idea; it'd be very fun",
I hadn't read an action script like that in a long time. This will happen.
Despite his enthusiasm, the actor warned fans the film was still years away from release.
He added to Moviehole: "It would be very fun but it's a long, long process. It's so hard when people start leaking tidbits. They're very, very early on with it - not that it won't happen, it's just early. It's most definitely still a few years away."
Last month, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson confirmed his involvement in the film - thought to be titled 'Jonny Quest' after the original Hanna-Barbara adimated series.
He said: "I hadn't read an action script like that in a long time. This will happen."
The Rock will play Race Bannon, a special agent from Intelligence One Government who is recruited to guard and train the pint-sized Jonny.
'Race to Witch Mountain' director Andy Fickman has signed on to make the movie, though no start dates have been set.
