Zach Braff is set to direct, rewrite and star in 'Swingles'.
The 'Scrubs' funnyman is in negotiations to work on the forthcoming romantic comedy alongside 'What Happens In Vegas' actress Cameron Diaz.
The story - which is based on a Duncan Birmingham and Jeff Roda script - is about a sharp-tongued woman, played by Diaz, and her male love rival, expected to be played by Braff.
The unsuspecting couple are thrown together after their friends meet and fall in love, leading the enemies to join forces to help one another find romance - despite hating each other.
'Swingles' will be produced for Paramount Pictures by Kevin Misher, who most recently worked on the upcoming 'Public Enemies'.
If Braff accepts the role, it will be his second full-length directorial position following 2004s indie movie 'Garden Stage'.
He also directed a chapter of the upcoming film 'New York, I Love You'.
