Zero Dark Thirty

Zero Dark Thirty has jumped up fifteen places to top the U.S. box office this week.

The movie sees Kathryn Bigelow return to the director's chair for the first time since the success of The Hurt Locker while Jessica Chastain leads the cast.

Zero Dark Thirty has been a huge critical success so far with a whole host of Golden Globe and Oscar nominations coming her way.

A Haunted House was the highest new entry on the chart this week as the comedy opens at number two.

Gangster Squad, which features a great ensemble cast including Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Sean Penn, was also a new entry at number three.

Django Unchained was down two places at number four while Les Miserables has rounded out the top five at number five - dropping just a single place from last week.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey falls out of the top five this week as it dropped three places to number six.

Lincoln was also up this week as it went from eight to seven while Parental Guidance was down three places at eight.

Last week's number one Texas Chainsaw 3D fell eight places to number nine. Silver Linings Playbook was the third movie that was on the rise this week as it went from twelve to ten.
