Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has made quite a name for himself in the last couple of years with television and film work, and now he is back on the big screen with A Second Chance.

A Second Chance

A Second Chance

A Second Chance is the first film outing for the actor since The Other Woman last spring, and this kicks of a very busy year for the actor.

The drama/thriller sees Coster-Waldau team up with director Susanne Bier for the first time. Bier has been behind films such as Brothers, Things We Lost in the Fire and Love Is All You Need during her career, and A Second Chance is her first film since the release of Serena last year.

We are big fans of Coster-Waldau here at FemaleFirst, and he takes centre stage in this great new trailer for the film:

Coster-Waldau takes on the central role of Andreas in A Second Chance, and is joined on the cast list by Ulrich Thomsen, Maria Bonnevie, and Nikolaj Lie Kaas.

One day Andreas and Simon are called out to a domestic disturbance where drug addicts Sanne (Lykke May Andersen) and Tristan (Kaas) are found bickering. When Andreas and Simon intervene, they witness a shocking instance of neglect that sends a livid Andreas home to his family's warm embrace.

Then, one night, the unthinkable happens and Andreas' family is struck by sudden tragedy. When Andreas sees his life unravelling, he makes a choice that will lead himself and everyone he knows down a rabbit hole of moral and ethical disarray.

Coster-Waldau will be moving between TV and film between now and this time next year with Game of Thrones and Gods of Egypt, but A Second Chance is another of his projects that is not to be missed.

A Second Chance is released 20th March.
