According to Deadline, Vikander is currently in talks to appear in the big screen adaptation of the popular computer game - a movie that has been in the pipeline for some time.

Justin Kurzel is in the director's chair for the film, while Michael Fassbender will take on the central role - a role he has been linked to for quite a while.

This will be the second time that Fassbender and Kurzel have worked together, having just completed filming on a new adaptation of Macbeth.

It is not yet known what kind of role Vikander would play should she join the film, but it would be the first time that she has teamed up with Fassbender. Marion Cotillard was linked to the project earlier this month.

Vikander is one of the most in demand actresses in Hollywood at the moment - we have already seen her in Ex Machina, Son of a Gun, Seventh Son, and Testament of Youth so far this year.

She is set to return to the big screen this summer with The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The movie is based on the hit sixties television show and will see Vikander star alongside Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, while Guy Ritchie is in the director's chair.

Vikander has also completed work on Tulip Fever, Adam Jones, The Light Between Oceans, Tulip Fever, and The Danish Girl.

Filming on Assassin's Creed is expected to finally get underway in September and is set to hit the big screen at the end of next year.

Assassin's Creed is released 30th December 2016 in the UK.
