Amber Heard has to "fight" for film roles because of her sexuality.

Heard came out as bisexual at an event hosted by Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation in 2010 and - before she met her husband Johnny Depp in 2012 - dated female artist and photographer Tasya van Ree between 2008 to 2011, but has insisted she doesn't want to "be defined by it".

Amber said: "I don't want to have to deny my sexuality in order to be me. But I don't want to have to be defined by it. I'm fundamentally opposed to trying to edit myself to be palatable or popular. I don't give a f**k. I fight, but I shouldn't have to."

The 'Magic Mike XXL' star went on to argue that celebrities who are in the closet are "inadvertently admitting it's wrong" to be bisexual or homosexual.

Speaking to The Times magazine, Amber said: "I personally think that if you deny something or if you hide something you're inadvertently admitting it's wrong. I hate the idea of a label just as much as anyone else but I'm with who I'm with.

"I'm not a better actress than I was yesterday and my personal life should have no effect on that."
