Directed by Paul Feig, A Simple Favour will see Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively return to the big screen in the roles of “mummy blogger” Stephanie and her best friend Emily respectively. When Emily suddenly disappears from their small town however, Stephanie turns detective in a thriller that’s packed full of twists, secrets, murder, revenge, and all of the classic ingredients for a stylish, post-modern film noir. Also starring Henry Golding in the role of Emily’s husband Sean – a man who helps Stephanie in her mission to discover the truth about her friend’s disappearance – the film looks set to take audiences on a thrill ride that never lets up.
At a time where thrillers and the like are really seeing a big resurgence in cinema, it’s going to be very interesting to see just how Feig’s flick resonates with the wider viewing public. Having worked on a number of successful big screen releases as of late, Feig will be hoping to carry on riding that wave of success with this new thriller. It’s going to be an exciting release for sure!
