Joss Whedon says that shooting Avengers: Age of Ultron is harder, but he set out to make it that way.

Whedon is back in the director’s chair for the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron - filming is currently underway - and while he admits some things are easier second time around, he set out to make it a tougher shoot.

Speaking to the Press Association, the director said: "Some things are easier, there's definitely a shorthand with the actors and the studio. But I set out to make it harder.

"I wanted this movie to be harder to make than the last one and hopefully that will show up on screen so it will be more interesting. I can't wait to be done!"

Age of Ultron is already one of the most anticipated films of 2014, and the movie has filmed in London, South Africa, and Italy.

The movie sees Whedon reunite with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.

There are some new faces on board as Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader and Paul Bettany will all also star.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the first Avengers film since the success of Avengers Assemble back in 2012, which went on to gross over $1.5 billion at the global box office. The movie will bring Phase Two of Marvel films to a close.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released 25th April 2015.
