Ben Affleck's latest directing project has been pushed back twelve months due to his commitments to Batman vs Superman.

Affleck is set to return to the director's chair to helm Live By Night - which is an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel of the same name.

Affleck is also set to star in the drama set in the Prohibition era, but he need more time to prepare for the film after filming on the Man of Steel sequel is completed.

Therefore, Warner Bros have announced that the release has now been moved from December 2015 to October 2016.

Live The Night will be the first directorial outing for Affleck since Argo: which scooped the Best Picture Oscar last year.

This will also be the second Lehane novel that Affleck has brought to the big screen: Gone Baby Gone was his debut.

Affleck is set to take over the role of Batman in Batman vs Superman, which is due to start filming in Detroit.

The film will see Affleck team up with director Zack Snyder, while Henry Cavill reprises the role of Clark Kent.
