Dawn of Justice will give us our first look at Affleck as Batman - casting that did cause controversy when it was announced last year.

And while Affleck admits that he always nervous about releasing a movie that he has directed, he feels calmer when he is just an actor on a project.

Speaking to The LA Times, the actor said: "Nobody tweeted about Casablanca, and look at how they did. [Laughs] From directing movies myself, at this point I always feel too enmeshed with it, where I get this panicked sense of like, 'Is it good? It's horrible, right? It's going to bomb.'

"But I have a little more sense of remove from this. I feel relaxed and I'm proud of the movie and excited for people to see it. It's a much nicer feeling. I'm so glad I'm not Zack."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sees Zack Snyder return to the director's chair as Affleck teams up with the filmmaker for the first time.

We are also going to see Affleck reprise the role of Bruce Wayne for an appearance in Suicide Squad later this summer. A solo film and a Justice League movie is also on the horizon for the actor.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first time that we have seen Batman on the big screen since The Dark Knight Rises as Affleck takes over the role from Christian Bale.

And while Affleck admits that he is less stressed about the release of Dawn of Justice because he has not directed the film, he is set to return to the director's chair with Live by Night.

Live by Night is an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel and sees Affleck direct, write and star in the film alongside Zoe Saldana Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Scott Eastwood, and Brendan Gleeson. However, the film will not be released until next year.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released 25th March.
