Scarlett Johansson and Black Widow have a huge part to play in Avengers: Age of Ultron and other Avengers films going forward.
Earlier this week Marvel's movie slate from not to 2019 were revealed, but sadly, there was no solo movie for this popular character.
I have to say, I expected Black Widow to get her own film as she is one of the most interesting members of the Avengers - her backstory is just so rich it would have been interesting to see that finally explored.
While we are disappointed the she won't be getting her own solo film, Kevin Feige has explained that she has a big role to play within the Avengers franchise.
Speaking during the Q&A session of the Marvel presentation, Feige said: "Black Widow couldn't be more important as an Avenger, but, like Hulk, the Avengers films will be the films where they play a primary role.
"Her part in Avengers: Age of Ultron' is very, very big and further develops her character. The plans we have for her through the rest of the Avengers saga are very big and she is a linchpin, in fact, to those films.
"So instead of taking her out there or doing a prequel which we haven't done yet, we're continuing the forward momentum of the continuity of the Cinematic Universe, of which Widow is a key part."
Black Widow was introduced to us for the first time in Iron Man 2, and she has since gone on to star in Avengers Assemble and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Johansson will reprise the role next year as she star alongside Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner & Mark Ruffalo in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
