Hitting cinemas later this year and 35 years after the original film, Blade Runner 2049 will revisit Harrison Ford’s character rick Deckard, in a story led by new character LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling). Making a discover that could change the world forever, he sets out on a mission to find Deckard and get answers before it’s too late and society is plunged into chaos. Whether or not he’s successful remains to be seen… Check out the new official trailer for the film below:

Also starring Jared Leto, Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis and Sylvia Hoeks, the trailer shows a glimpse of all of the film’s leading characters, set amongst a stunning and often neo-lit world of dystopia.

Director Ridley Scott returns to smack his stamp all over the movie, with the sound and visuals bringing viewers right back into that Blade Runner world.

Despite showing quite a lot of material, the trailer does a great job of showcasing just enough so that the story and plot of the sequel remains a mystery. While we know we’re back in Los Angeles and Leto’s character looks to be making Replicants, that’s the extent of the new information, coupled with the official synopsis outlined above.

Let’s hope that this time round, Blade Runner can make big box office numbers and impress those working on the movie, rather than getting the franchise cancelled before it’s even had chance to get off the ground.
