Bob Balaban

Bob Balaban has heaped praise on George Clooney.

Balaban has teamed up with Clooney for the first time for The Monuments Men; a film that Clooney stars in as well as directs.

And Balaban has admitted that he thoroughly enjoyed working with director Clooney.

Speaking to FemaleFirst on the red carpet, the actor said: I found him wonderfully self-effacing, interested in doing in his job and not interested in all of the other stuff.

"He is organised, smart and helpful and really did create a good feeling on the set. I really enjoyed working with him a lot."

Balaban takes on the role of Preston Savitz, in the World war II movie that is based on an incredibly true story.

Savitz and a group of museum directors, curators, and art historians are sent into Germany to help rescue some of the world's greatest artistic masterpieces.

An all star cast has been assembled as Clooney and Balaban have starred alongside Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Bill Murray and Jean Dujardin.

Balaban will be back on the big screen next month in Wes Anderson's latest film The Grand Budapest Hotel.

The Monuments Men is out now.
