Bryan Cranston is one of the most exciting actors around and he is set to turn his hands back to comedy as he teams up with James Franco for Why Him?

Why Him?

Why Him?

Why Him? Marks the return of John Hamburg to the director's chair for his first feature film since I Love You, Man back in 2009.

As well as being in the director's chair, Hamburg has also teamed up with Ian Helfer to pen the film's screenplay. Shawn Levy, Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Dan Levine have come together to produce the film.

Cranston is set to take on the role of Ned, who is meeting his daughter's boyfriend Laird for the first time. Needless to say, they don't get along. See Cranston and Franco in action in this brand new trailer:

A great cast has been assembled for the film as Zoey Deutch, Adam Devine and Megan Mullally star alongside Cranston and Franco.

Over the holidays, Ned (Cranston), an overprotective but loving dad and his family visit his daughter at Stanford, where he meets his biggest nightmare: her well-meaning but socially awkward Silicon Valley billionaire boyfriend, Laird (Franco). The straight-laced Ned thinks Laird, who has absolutely no filter, is a wildly inappropriate match for his daughter.

The one-sided rivalry - and Ned's panic level - escalate when he finds himself increasingly out of step in the glamorous high-tech hub, and learns that Laird is about to pop the question.

Why Him? is released in 2017.
