Day and Ice Cube are set to feature in the new comedy from writers Van Robichaux and Evan Susser, after taking part in discussions with New Line Cinema.

The plot will follow Charlie's character, a timid English teacher, who must stand up to a bully (Ice Cube) at his school who challenges him to a punch-up for believing he is trying to get him fired.

No director has yet been announced for the production, which will be the writing team's big screen debut, although it is set to begin shooting in September.

According to Deadline, the film has been inspired by the cult 1987 high school comedy 'Three O'Clock High', which itself was inspired by the 1952 classic western 'High Noon', about a high school student who accidentally offends a bully and then spends all day trying to avoid the impending fist fight.

Billy Rosenberg, Shawn Levy and Max Greenfield will act as producers on the project, which will be overseen by Dan Cohen, while New Line executive producers Sam Brown and Dave Neustadter are also on board.
