Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie have likened the dispute in Captain America: Civil War to a family dispute or a sibling rivalry.

Evans and Mackie are set to reprise their roles of Captain America and Falcon in the already highly anticipated Civil War, which will see the Avengers divided over the regulation of superhero activity with Captain America and Iron Man on opposite sides.

The two actors attended the Disney D23 Expo over the weekend where they talked about their characters, the film and debuted some of the first footage from the movie.

Speaking to IGN they talked about the 'family dispute' that we are going to see in the film:

Anthony Mackie: "We definitely have gloves on, but it's more of a family dispute. That's what's so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It's more so when you have a sibling rivalry.

"The reason people can relate to these characters so much is because they can relate to what they're going through; everybody's fought with one of their siblings or one of their friends, wanted to make up with them, but couldn't figure out the best way to do it and that's kind of how Civil War works."

Chris Evans: "I feel like families... you have more struggles with the people you love because you care about them. You can't leave them, you have to make this work. It just feels like when you have a family dynamic of people that you may not get along with, but you can't just cut them out of your life, that's what makes the stakes so high."

Captain America: Civil War is set to be the third solo film in the Captain America franchise and will kick Marvel's Phase 3 of films off in fine style.

Civil War will be the first of two Marvel films to hit the big screen next year - in the second we will see Benedict Cumberbatch introduced as Doctor Strange for the first time.

In Civil War, we are going to see Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Robert Downey Jr, and Jeremy Renner reprise the roles of Black Widow, the Winter Soldier, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. We are also going to see Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland introduced as Black Panther and Spider-Man.

Civil War will be the first time that we have seen Evans take on the role of Captain America since Avengers Age of Ultron earlier this year and this is set to be the biggest Captain America movie yet.

Anthony and Joe Russo are back in the director's chair for the film, which looks set to build up to and plant more seeds for Avengers: Infinity War - we will see the Russo brothers take over the director's chair from Joss Whedon and direct and Avengers film for the first time.

Captain America; Civil War is released 29th April 2016.
