Chris Evans

Chris Evans says he was nervous about working with Robert Redford for the first time.

Evans and Redford team up in Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Redford is one of the new faces on the cast list as Alexander Pierce.

And while Evans has some nerves about working with the iconic actor/director, he says that he was the 'nicest guy in the world.'

Speaking to ScreenRant, the actor said: "I was so nervous the first day, and within ten minutes, I was like, oh, thank God. Because you never know.

"You never know how these people are going to be at that level, and he’s just the nicest guy in the world. I mean, it’s not like he can’t direct.

"He could have very easily come on the set and made it his set, and he just didn’t do that. He has immense respect, and he’s not one of those guys."

Evans is reprising the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the second stand alone film for this Marvel character.

This is the first time that we have seen Rogers on the big screen since the success of Avengers Assemble - apart from that little cameo in Thor: The Dark World.

Evans will be returning to the character later this year, as filming on The Avengers: Age of Ultron gets underway.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released 26th March.
